Anyone and everyone is welcome to join our Pop Choirs. We are a friendly group of people ranging in age from 16 to 60 plus! Each term we start a new set of songs we all learn together as well as revising old songs the group particularly like! The sorts of songs we cover are usually from the world of Pop and musical theatre. In the past we have done things like ‘Born this way’ (Lady Gaga), ‘Oh happy day’, ‘River Deep, Mountain High’ (Tina Turner), a ‘Sister Act’ medley, songs from the Beatles, from ‘My Fair Lady’ and ‘U2’. We’ll have a go at anything popular and songs are often chosen to reflect the members of the choir we have each term.
We are certainly not a traditional ‘choir’ and you are not required to audition to get in, or to be able to read music. We’re more similar to a gospel choir (with less of the gospel involved!) and are even known to put basic steps to the songs at times!
Each term finishes with a performance of some kind. The autumn term ends with performances at our Christmas Party, the summer term ends with our Summer Concert at the Memorial court theatre in Northwich and the Easter term ends with our annual charity busk where we take to the streets to raise money for worthy charities.
Each term’s price is worked out at £8 per week and the total is paid at the start of each term. Price includes all the music you need as well as any rehearsal tracks that are given out.
