If you’re enthusiastic about singing you are very welcome to book a lesson regardless of your previous experience. Lessons will be catered towards your specific needs and in your first lesson we’ll assess exactly what those are! So whether you need help with pitching accurately, developing vocal strength or building your understanding of your voice- I can help!

Regular voice coaching is just as important as a professional athlete’s coaching. If you’re not taking care of your instrument you can end up damaging yourself.

I’ll make sure you are always on track, helping you to cope with the demands of a heavy gigging schedule or preparing you for an important audition.

There is also always more to be learnt. Perhaps you’re avoiding writing songs in certain parts of your voice because you struggle to achieve a quality sound there, or you’re not booking the auditions you’ve been attending because you’ve not got the strength or tonal quality they’re looking for. Perhaps there’s something else on your wish list for your voice. In your first lesson we’ll discuss your goals, your ideals for you voice and get your started towards building an even better version of what you’ve already developed.

I also offer vocal rehabilitation for those who have been unfortunate enough to encounter issues with the voice through incorrect singing or overuse.

I’m happy to work with children over the age of 8 who have some previous experience of singing.

If your child is younger than 8 or hasn’t yet performed I would recommend sending them to a group class first before investing in private tuition. They will gain so much more from private lessons once they have some experience of singing in local shows. Look for a local stage school like Stagecoach or a local childrens choir and have them begin to learn there.

Once they have some experience under their belt they will be better placed to appreciate and benefit from the work done in a private lesson.

Heather offers online or in-person lessons.

Online lessons can be accessed from anywhere in the world using Zoom. All you need is a microphone and camera set up on your computer (most laptops have these inbuilt).

Acuity Scheduling is used for booking and payment will confirm your booking.

You have the option to book a single lesson or sign up for regular lessons. Regular lessons are more cost-effective and we will automatically bill you every 4 weeks so you won’t forget to book in.

All bookings will receive a zoom link, even if you are working with Heather at her studio, in case you need to revert to online at the last minute. You will be sent reminders of your lesson in advance of the booking.

Lessons may be rescheduled via the scheduling app (above) provided there is more than 48 hours notice.

Lessons cancelled less than 48hrs before they are due to take place are non-refundable.

Please note that if you are late to your lesson we cannot run over the scheduled time so you will receive whatever is left of the time you scheduled and the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.

Heather charges the following for one-to-one singing tuition:

30 minute lesson - £40

45 minute lesson- £58

1 hour lesson - £75

Monthly subscription packages are available which reduce the cost per hour of the lessons and also include a free pass to the monthly online Singing Fundamentals Course. These can be found on the scheduling page.

*IVA Teacher-Educator lessons are charged at $165 per hour and the cost will be converted to £GBP according to the current exchange rate.

There are many other ways to learn from Heather if one-to-one lessons aren’t an option at the moment.

Singing is very much like fitness. Some people want a coach to get through a problem area; others want to continually refine their skill in an ongoing relationship with Heather.

The number of lessons you have will depend on your own voice, circumstances and preferences.

Yes - Gift Certificates are available on our scheduling page.

Once payment is made a voucher will be e-mailed to you and can be forwarded onto the recipient or printed out and handed to them. They can then use their voucher to schedule a lesson via the website at a time that suit them.

Gift Voucher are valid for 6 months.

The Institute of Vocal Advancement (IVA) is an organisation that trains singing teachers.

In 2013 IVA was founded by 9 singing teachers (including Heather) with a shared passion for developing the best methods for training singing teachers.

IVA developed a programme that helps teachers to understand how the voice works, how to diagnose voices, and fix problems in any voice, and have a global community of teachers across 5 continents.

IVA teach teachers to understand the voice as a whole, and from the perspective of the singer. Their programme lets them show singing teachers how to teach singers to achieve any sound they want without breaking the function of their voice or restricting them.

The approach works for every level of singer from beginners to professionals.
