VOCAL TECHNIQUE DEVELOPMENT

Elevate Your Craft. Refine Your Sound. Expand Your Possibilities.

If you feel like you’re not getting the sound quality you’d ideally want in your voice- perhaps you’ve always wanted to Belt but have never managed to do so without it causing you pain- then vocal technique is the key. Vocal technique is about more than just hitting the right notes- it’s the key to unlocking artistic freedom, vocal longevity, and stylistic mastery.

Whether you're performing regularly, preparing for auditions, recording, or simply striving for the next level, these sessions offer a focused space to fine-tune your instrument and develop your technical edge, allowing you to produce the sounds you want to make in a healthy and efficient way.

WE CAN WORK ON:

  • Breath Management for Power and Control: Refine your control over your airflow and vocal fold resistance to the air in order to access all dynamics and vocal ease across your voice.

  • Range Refinement & Registration: Smooth transitions, eliminate unwanted vocal breaks, increase agility, and improve control of head, mix, and chest registers.

  • Resonance & Tonal improvement: Optimise your tone quality through strategic resonance tuning and vowel optimisation.

  • Vocal Consistency: Build stamina and stability across genres, throughout your range for long-lasting control.

  • Stylistic Precision: Tailor your technique to meet the demands of whichever contemporary style of music you wish to sing- from Musical Theatre to Rock and everything in between.

  • Vocal Health for High-Demand Voices: Learn sustainable strategies for managing vocal fatigue, tension, and recovery.

LESSONS ARE ADAPTED TO SUIT EACH INDIVIDUAL’S NEEDS AND ARE THEREFORE SUITABLE FOR PROFESSIONAL SINGERS, AMBITIOUS AMATEURS AND STUDENTS.

THESE SESSIONS ARE IDEAL FOR:

  • Performing artists and recording professionals

  • Musical theatre performers

  • Voice teachers seeking to sharpen their own skills

  • Advanced students preparing for music college/ theatre school or professional work

  • Amateur singers who are dedicated to improving their skills

TECHNICAL WORK THAT SERVES THE ART:

This isn’t just technical for technical’s sake. Every exercise and concept is applied directly to the music you're working on so you feel the difference in the work, not just in the studio. If your voice won’t do what you want it to- there’s usually a reason- let’s analyse what that is and begin working on building the voice you really want!

AUDITION PREPARATION

Own the Room. Deliver with Confidence. Get the Callback.

Auditions are high-pressure moments but with the right preparation, they can also be powerful opportunities to show exactly who you are as a vocalist and performer.

Whether you're auditioning for theatre, film, music schools, or professional work, get help to walk into the room vocally grounded, dramatically connected, and mentally prepared.

WHAT WE COVER:

  • Repertoire Coaching: Choose material that showcases your vocal strengths, suits the brief, and highlights your individuality. I’m not afraid to tell you when your choice of song won’t make the cut.

  • Vocal Polishing: Tackle the technical challenges in your audition songs. Whether you require better breath control, registration, high notes, or stylistic approaches, you’ll be guided into the best possible vocal coordination achievable within the timeframe we’re working in.

  • Acting Through Song: Connect emotionally with your material and communicate intention, not just sound. We’ll dig into storytelling, phrasing, and character choices.

  • Audition Readiness: Simulate the audition experience with mock runs, feedback, and strategies to manage nerves, adrenaline, and unexpected curveballs in the room. Learn how to speak to the audition accompanist, how to mark up the music and how to introduce yourself.

WHO’S IT FOR:

  • Musical theatre singers

  • Music college or theatre school applicants

  • Professional performers prepping for agency or production calls

  • Singers returning to auditioning after a break

WHY IT MATTERS:

A great audition isn’t just about talent- it’s about clarity, confidence, and preparation. With expert guidance, you’ll walk in knowing you’ve done everything you can to deliver your best. For the best results it’s recommended to plan ahead- the longer you have to develop your vocal technique the easier you’ll find it to produce an audition worthy of your abilities.

VOCAL REHABILITATION

Rebuild. Restore. Return to Singing with Confidence.

A compromised voice can be frightening- especially when your voice is your livelihood, your creative outlet, or your identity. Whether you’re recovering from vocal fatigue, strain, illness, or injury, vocal rehabilitation sessions provide a safe and structured path back to vocal health.

We’ll work gently and effectively to help you rebuild strength, restore function, and regain confidence in your voice.

WHO THIS IS FOR:

  • Singers recovering from vocal strain, overuse, or fatigue

  • Those returning after illness (e.g., laryngitis, COVID, respiratory infections)

  • Singers post-surgery or medical treatment (in collaboration with ENTs and SLPs or other voice specialists)

  • Performers experiencing tension, hoarseness, or inconsistency

  • Anyone who feels their voice is "not working like it used to"

WHAT WE FOCUS ON:

  • Vocal Reset and Restoration: Establish a healthy, balanced setup for singing, free from unnecessary tension or compensatory habits.

  • Targeted Vocal Exercises: Gentle, restorative techniques designed to support healing, coordination, and vocal function with a focus on breath flow, phonation, and resonance.

  • Gradual Strength Building: As healing progresses, we’ll rebuild stamina and range through structured, incremental work, never pushing before you're ready. It’s encouraged for you to record your sessions so you can continue the work between lessons using the recordings.

  • Collaboration with Voice Care Professionals: If you’re working with an ENT, speech-language therapist, or vocal health specialist, I’m happy to coordinate care and support your recovery plan.

A SUPPORTIVE SPACE TO HEAL AND GROW

You don’t need to “push through it” or figure it out alone. Vocal rehabilitation is not just about recovery, it’s about reconnecting with your voice in a way that’s sustainable, efficient, and empowering.
